Talithe smiled and the Iduneus lifted her brows. They seemed to be impressed, which was a good thing. He’d caught their attention, and maybe that would help out sometime down the road. One didn’t get to higher places without being recognized or achieving something great with no one watching. So far, in his mind, he was starting off on the right foot. "Not the medics, hmm? You wound me, dear," the Vetr said, placing a hand over her heart in a jesting manner. Kaelan smiled and gave a small laugh. “I think you’re going to need to get that looked at,” he joked. “As you can see, my talent isn’t healing.” He shrugged and ran a hand through his hair. “Sorry to disappoint,” his voice was laced with sarcasm. Kaelan was definitely not the healing type. He didn’t have the compassion to be a healer. He’d also not know what to do and would only get under the other’s feet. Let them do what did they best and let him do what he did best: plan and fight. He was a soldier after all, not a mother taking care of her young brood. --- Notes: Meh

Talithe jumped slightly as something brushed against her mind, her eyes growing wide momentarily.
Her eyes grew unfocused, though she corrected herself immediately, folding her hands in front of her.
It was an unusual contact -- Talithe didn't "hear" psychic messages often, but she never really liked them. She would describe them as something like an insect crawling on your mind: A strange, ticklish, slightly itchy sensation that couldn't be given a name.
Hello? She thought back in a sort of broadcast, though she couldn't find the source. She scanned the faces of nearby Drakonrhedi. None of them gave anything away.
With no response coming immediately, she returned her attention to the Tiro.
“As you can see, my talent isn’t healing. Sorry to disappoint."))
She laughed lightly, "Perhaps not. You are talented with the longbow. Have you spoken to Pryfektus Astriddottir? She is a remarkable enchanter. She could strengthen your bow, or your arrows. Pryfektus Sveinnsson is also handy with the bow, and you might want to see him about your weapon."
Talithe's eyes grew unfocused again as she concentrated once more on "listening" for whatever had contacted her.

Kvrai the Silverblooded | “I think you’re going to need to get that looked at."
Kvrai gave a small, quiet laugh at the Tiro, barely more than a "hmph" of amusement.
"As you can see, my talent isn’t healing. Sorry to disappoint.”
The Vetr, however, was much more interesting. Xii piloted her eyes, allowing them to remain natural as Kvrai more carefully examined Talithe's reaction. She had jumped, and after going wide-eyed for a moment, she appeared to calm down.
However, the psychic broadcast she received almost immediately dispelled that notion. A wary "Hello?" came from the Vetr's mind, showing that she was quite on edge, but faking her composure nicely.
Soon, however, she was replying to the Tiro with a laugh and a smile.
"Perhaps not. You are talented with the longbow. Have you spoken to Pryfektus Astriddottir? She is a remarkable enchanter. She could strengthen your bow, or your arrows. Pryfektus Sveinnsson is also handy with the bow, and you might want to see him about your weapon."
"I am not nearly as social as the Vetr, but I'm certain her advice is worthwhile."
Kvrai tucked the names away in her mind, Xii quickly transcribing them. At the same time, the Silverblooded gained some insight into the Vetr Talithe--well-connected, and good at covering her surprise for the most part.
However, once more, her eyes grew foggy, seeking out whatever had contacted her.
I will not reply, the Promethaen decided. I shall wait to see if she is trustworthy, then contact her as a distant entity more akin to my actual identity than this form.
"Are you alright, Vetr?" she asked, voice filled with concern and eyebrows pulled up slightly. "You seem to be zoning out a bit. Is there anything you need? A glass of water, maybe?"
Kvrai did not particularly mind that this sequence of events might send the Vetr thinking that she was going insane. If she was worthy, everything would be cleared up shortly.
If not, well, it was only a single incident. She wouldn't be harmed by it, think it instead simply a fragment of her imagination.

Talithe’s slight jump did not go unnoticed by the Tiro. Her eyes had widened for a fraction of a second before she stopped herself and clasped her hands in front of her. A small laugh had escaped the Iduneus’ lips, but Talithe hadn’t even smiled. She wasn’t paying attention. What happened? Did she get so consumed by her thoughts? She didn’t seem like the type to Kaelan. Odd... She snapped out of it and laughed, showing that she had heard a part of what he had said by replying, "Perhaps not. You are talented with the longbow. Have you spoken to Pryfektus Astriddottir? She is a remarkable enchanter. She could strengthen your bow, or your arrows. Pryfektus Sveinnsson is also handy with the bow, and you might want to see him about your weapon." "Thank you." Kaelan smiled back at her, suppressing his urge to laugh. Pryfektus Astriddottir was his mentor. So yes, he had talked to her. It’d be impossible not to. Pryfektus Sveinnsson, though, he’d never met. He’d heard a few things here and there about the man, but he’d never been able to hold a conversation with him. "I am not nearly as social as the Vetr, but I'm certain her advice is worthwhile." The Tiro looked over at other woman and nodded. “Of course.” Turning back to the Vetr he continued, “Pryfektus Astriddotir is my mentor, and now I suppose I ought to seek out Pryfektus Sveinnson sooner or later. Thank you.” Talithe wasn’t paying attention once more. Something was going on. He opened his mouth to ask if she was fine, but the Iduneus beat him to it. "Are you alright, Vetr? You seem to be zoning out a bit. Is there anything you need? A glass of water, maybe?" “Anything at all?” Kaelan added. --- Notes: Tralala

Talithe was still "listening" for the psychic presence when the Iduneus and Tiro spoke to her again.
"Are you alright, Vetr? You seem to be zoning out a bit. Is there anything you need? A glass of water, maybe?"))
Talithe perked up and smiled at the Iduneus, tilting her head a little in the friendliest way possible. "No! No. I'm quite alright! Thank you for your concern, dear."
“Anything at all?”))
Talithe looked around the deck. "I'm fine. I thought of something, is all. Nothing to worry about!" She laughed a practiced fake laugh. She had been working on it since she was little; most people would have mistaken it for genuine laughter.
She tossed her head, a nervous tic of hers.
Am I feeling okay? I think so. I... definitely heard someone. Right?
Talithe thought it unlikely she was losing her mind. She dismissed the idea that someone who was losing their mind wouldn't realize they were losing their mind, and returned her focus the conversation. "Kaelan, I would talk to Lady Astriddottir about enchanting. I'm sure she can teach you!" Smiling, she looked distracted for a moment as she sought the source of the contact once again.

Kvrai the Silverblooded | "No! No. I'm quite alright! Thank you for your concern, dear."
Kvrai frowned, as if still concerned. However, there wasn't much she could do in regards to speaking out. Talithe was pretty good at acting, all things considered.
The Tiro, too, had grown concerned. "Anything at all?" he queried, looking at the Vetr more carefully.
Kvrai was glad that she wasn't the only one who'd noticed. After all, it made her own observation more credible--if she were the only one to notice, it might appear as if she'd been looking for it (which she had), thus leading to an increase of suspicion.
"I'm fine. I thought of something, is all. Nothing to worry about!"
The Vetr laughed. It sounded natural.
But is it...?
Kvrai paused, watching her carefully out of the corner of her eye even as the discussion continued.
"Kaelan, I would talk to Lady Astriddottir about enchanting. I'm sure she can teach you!"
As the Vetr stopped speaking, her gaze once more became cloudy as she zoned out.
Indeed, she was still affected by the contact. Probably curiosity--Kvrai doubted the woman had gleaned even a bit of her identity or any of the knowledge contained within her brain. The Vetr was simply wary or curious, then.
"Mistress, I believe we have gleaned all that we might from this encounter. It has already been fairly successful, where the psychology of notable humans is concerned."
"I suppose you're right."
Kvrai glanced around. "I should probably be leaving. There's probably something for me to do by now."
