Why did it seem like that once the Tiros gained the title Iduneus that they still couldn’t really do anything without someone supervising them? Of course there were the ones that went above and beyond and who didn’t need to be looked after like a toddler. But the rest couldn’t even talk to him without fear making them tremble and their voices tremble as they asked about the most ridiculous things. They were proper warriors and should actually act like it once in a while. The fact that many didn’t, or at least in his eyes didn’t, irked him to no end. They could be doing things without his constant attention and they, like he had said to that Iduneus, were wasting his time with the little things that he didn’t need to be involved with.
But apparently this was not one of those little matters.
As he had been walking, Faolán heard the buzzing of the electricity. Good, she was obeying. His attention, though, went back to folder in his hands. Faolán glanced up momentarily at Thalia as the noise the electricity died out. She’d let her magic fade away. He looked back down to pick up reading where he had left off. “Again,” the man commanded.
A town was apparently being beset upon by a number of Bovterpi and at least one Titanothain. Many of the Bovterpi were already dead, but the Titanothain was more of a problem for the less experienced Iduneus. A number of injuries and all that. So instead of deciding to get someone to tell him this, they write it up and hand it to him? Oh the foolish insufferableness of some of these people! Looks like he’d have to remedy that later. For now though, they needed someone to take care of the Titanothain, and he, of course, had to be that someone.
Faolán snorted and slipped the folder under his arm. Reaching for his sword that was still propped up against the desk he looked up to Thalia and said, “Looks like we’ll have to reschedule the rest of this training session. I, apparently, have places I need to be.” And more reports to write up later. ”Keep practicing, but for now, you’re free to spend the rest of the day as you will.” He stood up and sheathed his sword. “You are dismissed.” Then without waiting for a reply, Faolán left the room, heading to the deck where Raith was probably waiting for him. It wasn’t what he had in mind for the rest of the day, but at least he got something done in time with Thalia’s training. Now to go kill some behemoths.
