The light shone bright as Shepherd took a lazy stroll through the bustling plaza. It was always nice to see people chattering about like it was just another normal day. He took a sigh as he ran his fingers through his hair. Like nothing terrible happened on the streets at night. Like the world was full of non events and their biggest worries were finding fresh fruits for dinner. He wished his mind would let him forget about all of the troubles that plagued this damn city. He couldn't afford to though, not with how he operated. He needed to at least stay half alert, no telling what sorts of trouble could just appear right out of nowhere. There was always some sort of trouble that popped up, no matter how normal the day seemed to be. Like a sudden rainstorm happening on a perfectly sunny day. He gave a bit of an ironic chuckle at the thought, glancing up towards the sky. If only I could predict the weather, he thought.
He made his way past a market stall and brought his feet to a stop. He gave a grin to the young lady working there and she presented her wares with a smile. "All fresh, just picked today!"
He hummed and pulled out a bit of coin, giving her the amount needed to purchase one of the red apples. With a smile she took his money and waved. "Have a good day, sir! And thanks for your patronage!" With a gruff nod, he took his apple and made his way back on his casual patrol. Taking a bite of his apple, he let his eyes wander through the streets, slipping his free hand into his pocket. His ears pricked and his eyes drawn towards a slight commotion happening at one of the stalls.
"Get back here!!" A stall owner yelled out towards a man who's walk shifted into a quick run. With a sigh Shepherd tossed his apple away and twisted towards the direction of the man, dashing after him. It was difficult for the both of them to slip through the crowd, bustling and active as it was. Shepherd luckily was able to keep his eye on the guy, pushing his way past the civilians to reach towards the thief. With a heavy push, he reached and gripped the back of the running thief's shirt and yanked him back.
"Oi, you're under arrest."
