- - Masquerade, a mask of steel; winding life onto the reel - -
Zsasilda glanced around her, remaining silent, as did the vast majority of her companions. While herself and Kvrai had assumed their Promethaen forms, that...Dae'myr?...remained in a human form, albeit with a Promethaen tail. An interesting creature, if ever she'd known one.
It had been so long since she'd been in this form. She ignored the fact that in was in her mind, looked at those others who had reverted to their true guises, glad to see these familiar faces once again. But as Tzintl spoke, something else grabbed her attention:
Zeta-model?
We did study these, mistress.
They are virtually inescapable.
A prison for those that the Infinite can not kill, for whatever reason.
Very useful, in their day.
But we've never seen one with our own eyes...
A death sentence?
You are not really surprised, mistress.
No...no, I'm not. But I hope we will not be required to help in dealing the death blows. I have not entered combat in this form for some time now.
"Excellent. Additional inquiries will now be taken."
She moved her head to take in those around her. That strange creature, that Dae'myr, moved first. She was still not sure how she felt about him- he seemed odd, but she didn't know him really and he was thus unpredictable, and that made her uncomfortable.
"...A display of power for the humans... or are we to stick to the shadows? Perhaps let them sort it out, no? Watch them, as they fail to subdue the hivemaster? Overrun by the Xxidao? A new Xxidao queen, on a new world..."
Seems like a rather dramatic idea. She noted
It does not exactly seem prudent, to be sure.
He is not a member of the Infinite. Perhaps he is young? We can not expect him to think as we do.
I do not think he is overly young, but your point is made.
She stayed silent, waiting for the others to address Dae-myr. Zsasilda did not feel at this stage that she herself would speak unless first spoken to. However, who knew how the circumstances might change?
